Tattered Simplicity

I have been feeling very inspired as of late but inspiration does not always bring motivation, therefore the blog has been a bit neglected. So instead of spending my entire post harping on the fact that I haven't been posting to the blog, let's admire the above photo instead.

I'm not sure what it is about "Classic" american women's wear brands that ruffles my feathers, maybe the fact that anything vintage I gravitate towards or the fact that I've always felt I have an old soul. Whatever the reason these brands excite me. I love an old Liz Claiborne purse (and have a couple in my collection), or an Anne Klein oversized blazer, or even a pair of 90's Calvin Klein pumps, whatever the vintage American classic, it's usually a "Love" in my eyes!

Something about the wear of the leather or the tattered edges of the label makes me feel like our overly technologically advanced universe is overrated and what it comes down to is the simplicity in life. The craftsmanship of the simple things is what brings balance to an otherwise fast-paced existence.

Chameleon

Chameleon:
a : a person given to often expedient or facile change in ideas or character
b : one that is subject to quick or frequent change especially in appearance
Not sure why the word "Chameleon" came to me last night but I found this definition interesting nonetheless.

Enjoy the photos! Oh and Happy New Year to you all.

Tesh

Untitled

Attended a wedding this evening and I needed to dress up a bit but I didn't feel like wearing a dress or skirt so I pulled out these pants that I picked up from a local thrift shop about a year ago. I remember the day I purchased them, since it is so rare to find a size 2 especially in pants and that are long enough for me, I was super excited but more so excited about the price (can you believe they were $1 or $2 bucks). Anyhoo, A few pics to start off your Sunday morning.

Color Pop

So here is what I wore yesterday. I have been trying to figure out how to wear this bright fish necklace for the longest but every time I put it on something looked off.  Yesterday I was determined to figure it out and this was what I came up with. I pulled this bright orange bag out from an old suitcase full of purses I have from over the years (I keep certain purses just for rainy days or when I want to mix it up or am tired of the bags I have on rotation at a particular time).  This was the day to pull this one out and with the sunny weather we've been having in Cali this week, it was inevitable to add this "Bright" just to kill the monotony of winter clothes I had been wearing.

Hope this inspires you to mix it up a bit and add a "Color Pop" to your day and everyone's around you. Life is full of unexpected changes. Be the unexpected!
Love,
:))

Spring Uniform

Lately I've noticed I've been wearing the same thing over and over. You would think it was a rut I am experiencing but I believe it's just the opposite. I've noticed the older I get the less I want to do regarding my wardrobe, or if something WORKS why change it.  It's funny that one of my short-term goals is to simplify my life and I think my current Spring uniform is one of those simplifications (Is this a word).

From the photo above, I'm sure you may notice my "Black & Whites" from a previous post. I really haven't been wearing these as much as another pair of oxfords I have but they were prettier for the sake of the picture. But, the oxford style shoe in general is pretty comfortable and still super cute for a casual look, therefore they have been a current staple in my wardrobe. I've also been loving a few V-neck tees I picked up at Old Navy (four bucks each). They're like the perfect fit (I'm very particular about the fit of my tees) and they have a vintage cotton type look to them, like something straight out of the 70's.  The pink one above I haven't even worn yet but the gray one I have I've already worn twice this week and it's only Tuesday.

I currently have a mild fragrance obsession, for lack of a better word, that has been in existence for a few months now. I have found the most interesting online site where I can explore along with other scent weirdos
my current love of scents. I noticed I was spending a lot of time on the site the past few weeks so I laid off a bit this week and am trying to fill my time with other productive tasks such as blogging ok you got me I'll go log on after I'm done writing this blog and organizing just to name a few :) My point is the scent above is one I've been loving Stella by Stella McCartney Eau de Parfum. It's the closest thing I've gotten to perfection regarding the way I want to smell at the moment. It was gifted to me this past Christmas, thanks Sharla, Love it!! Oh and the site is http://www.fragrantica.com. Check it out :))

Ok, lastly I've had the TIME to do my nails lately, and have had the DESIRE to do them, so it's been lovely to have a bit of eye candy on a daily basis. The color above is called "Beach Pink" and it's by an inexpensive brand I love and I picked it up for a buck (you know I love my deals).

Oh oh, and I can't forget my favorite gold watch I picked up at one of the thrift shops I frequent. I love wearing this watch, it adds a mod element to any look and also adds a crisp put togetherness (definitely not a word) to your look. The brand is Anne Klein and I snagged it for ten bucks but it ended up being free with a coupon I had.

Enough rambling on about my favs of the moment. Hope you enjoyed my Spring uniform as much as I do.
LOVE,
Tesh :))

Shoe Obsession

Ok, so I visited a local designer shoe warehouse with my sister a few weeks ago and the above Sam Edelman pumps were one of the few pairs of shoes I loved. However, at the time I was low on funds (still low on funds) and I wasn't too into shoes at the moment (not a common occurrence).

As of late, the tide has turned and I have noticed a mini shoe fascination and accessories in general. So, I thought I'd share these beauties with you all. (I've also noticed I've been drawn to what I call old lady pumps, more on this later) Hope you all enjoy...more to come!

Black & Whites

I love when I find cute "inexpensive" shoes. Picked these up at one of the thrift shops I frequent. I almost
blew a gasket when I saw these at the bottom of a box full of brand new or nearly new shoes in which the sign indicated every pair was $5 dollars *The things that excite me :). Another customer in the store followed me around trying to see if I was going to put them back and kindly asked if I was purchasing them. I'm sure the look I gave her was answer enough....kidding :).

Anyhoo, I also picked up a pair of  strappy Calvin Klein heels (also $5 bucks), which I'll post a pic of as soon as I feel inspired to wear them. What do you guys think of my new "Black & Whites"?
